Today's post is about a product from Klairs new line called Fundamental Ampule Mist. I received this from Wishtrend to test and post a review on their website. I was under no obligation to review on my blog, but I just thought I should. You'll see why if you continue to read.
As always, even though I received this product for free from the brand, all opinions posted here is purely my own. π
COMPANY BACKGROUND
Klairs Cosmetics is a Korean brand that I associate with Wishtrend. I can't recall their relationship but I always associate them together.FUNCTION
The Fundamental Line is the newest line of products from Klairs. It is touted as the line that provides fundamental care with premium formulation. And I have to say, kind of premium price tag tooπ .The Fundamental Ampule Mist (mist) is USD $27 for 125ml, which works out to be about CAD $37.50. That is about C$0.30 per ml. It's kind of expensive. But I digress.
The mist is designed to deliver nutrients to the skin and locking in the moisture for long-lasting hydration. It is purported to provide deep hydration and anti-oxidant care, as well as brightening, calming and moisturization. It works both as a mist and an ampule, so I guess it could be considered as a two-in-one product.
PACKAGING
It comes in a typical clear plastic bottle with white labeling. It has a very simplistic look to it, which fits in with the Klairs brand aesthetics. I find it quite lightweight and easy to just toss in your bag and use it whenever you want, especially with the cap on the nozzle.INGREDIENTS
Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Luffa Cylindrica Fruit Extract, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Hibiscus Esculentus Fruit Extract, Betaine, Trehalose, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aqua(Water), Artemisia Vulgaris Extract, Panthenol, Sorbitol, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Disodium EDTA, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide NPCosDNA
This mist is definitely premium with the use of green tea leaf water as the base instead of water. Which is kind of funny to me because it is marked as a fragrance on CosDNA, which is kind of against what the brand's philosophy of being fragrance free. But let's face it, this is used for the skin conditioning and is not an artificial fragrance.
There are a lot of botanical extracts as well, such as cucumber, rice, okra, mugwort and kelp seaweed extracts. These extract is to help deliver a dewy and revitalized complexion. The cucumber and mugwort are also known to be soothing ingredients as well.
There are a ton of moisturizing ingredients, such as sodium hyaluronate, creamide NP, butylene Glycol, Glycerin, and panthenol. Which kind of looks like the mist will deliver on the deep hydration and moisturizing claim, doesn't it?
SCENT
Now, the green tea leaf water is considered as a fragrance. But honestly, it doesn't smell like much to me. When I first used it, it kind of smells plasticky. The first few times I used it, it smells like plastic. Not like burning plastic, but just that bland plastic smell. Thankfully the scent does go away after a few uses and I sure am glad it is gone. πPERFORMANCE
Okay, I been trying to stay coy about my thought on the mist. You are probably wondering, do you like it or hate it??? Why are you holding out on us???Well, I love it! I really do love it! I hate the price but it's really worth it!
Let me take my time and explain~
First thing to judge how well the mist works is of course, how it performs. And let me tell you, it really surprised me. I was like meh about it the first few times, especially when it kind of takes a while to sink into my skin and feels a bit oily. I was like hmmm, why does this take so long to sink in and why does it feel so oily? It must not be sinking in and going to pill up like hell on me.
Well guess what, it didn't. In fact, it sunk in after a while and it made my skin feel soooo soft and dewy. I am so happy about it! I have a sneaking suspicion that it works very well with the 107 Rose Vinegar Water, where the 107 provides the hydration, and the Klairs locks it all in and provides a boost of moisturization as well. The combination made my skin really happy during the summer. It is just the perfect level of hydration and moisture. I didn't need to use a cream for some of the days, and I didn't get any flaky skin! Isn't that wonderful? It made me really love the mist.
Now, performance aside, I am also picky about the scent and the packaging, hence why they are separate categories. If it stinks or have crappy packaging, I will still ditch it. So it's very good that the plastic scent is pretty faint and goes away after a while.
The success to a mist is the performance of its nozzle. I am not sure if I mentioned on here before, but I have kept mist bottles because its nozzle disperses really well. The Klairs mist nozzles is pretty darn good. The nozzle disperses an even but wide spray, with a little bit of a force. Which is actually perfect. And honestly, two pumps and it's more than enough for my face. Any more, it is too much and I got products dripping into my eyes. I really like the nozzle and will definitely keep the bottle.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
The only downside is the price, which I do think is tad expensive. But I think it would be something good to pick up during Wishtrend's Black Friday sale! I am definitely gonna consider it.
