[JOLSE] - NACFIC Real Floral Toner in Rose

Hey guys~! Another blog post. Who am I? Hahaha I kid.

This is the third part to my posts with Jolse, you can read part 1 - Lips (here) and part 2 - scalp (here). Now my last post is finally skincare related. Hehehe. I figured after all the makeup and scalp, I should go back to the topic I normally blog about. I decided on the NACIFIC Real Floral Toner in rose because I am a sucker for rose products, especially ones that has rose petals in it!

Before we continue, in case you haven't read the previous posts in the series. I was approached by Jolse to select products to review. I am now like 6 9 months behind in reviewing these products, so you know I had A LOT of time with these products and have definite opinion on them. What I love about Jolse is that they ask for my honest opinion. What I state in this post is my honest opinion of these products. 😊

Let's move on to the product.

[JOLSE] - AGATHA x TONYMOLY Lipsticks

Hi folks~ I hope 2021 has been going great for you so far. Today I have a lipstick swatch and wear test post for you~

A couple few months ago, I was approached by Jolse, a Korean shopping site. They have been one of my favourite sites to buy from since I started in Kbeauty years ago. They always offered excellent service, free shipping and a LARGE selection of products. So I was ECSTATIC that I was approached to review products for them~!! Of course I said yes.

Let me explain why I was so excited. They have a large selection of products, which gives me a lot of variety of options. But what makes me so excited is that Jolse has no requirement in terms of the reviews. They simply ask for my honest opinion on the products they carry. If you have been on here before, you know that I always provide my honest opinion on products. SO I don't do well with sites or brands that ask for favourable reviews only. Sometimes a constructive criticism/opinion is just a suggestion on how the product can be better, and not an attack on the brand or their products. Especially with skincare, people's skin are so different that the same product will work differently on everyone.

Anyways, I digress. I was excited that Jolse asked me and they told me I can choose whatever I want to review. So I chose a few things that's been on my wishlist! Of course, one of the top wishlist items is the AGATHA Premiere lipstick. It reminds me of Sailor Moon so I been eyeing it for a while. I also picked up one of the new Tonymoly lipsticks because I been wanting some new red lippies 😁

I have gone a little rambly, so let's move on with the review~!

[JOLSE] NAKEUP FACE PHA Water Tox Ampoule 33ml

Have you ever watched your package travel across the country and wondering what the heck happened?! I have.. My Nakeup Face PHA Water Tox Ampoule from Jolse did exactly that. It cleared through Vancouver customs only to travel across the country to Montreal and spend a few days there before coming back to AB.. I guess my ampoule just really wanted to travel the country before it gets on my face!

[JOLSE] SKIN&LAB Barrierderm Intensive Cream 50ml

I had reviewed a few products from Jolse and always ended up loving them! Today's review is the Skin & Lab Barrierderm Intensive Cream. I am so excited to try this as it seems to be designed for my dehydrated skin living in a dry environment. But this will only be a first impression instead of a full review. I will explain why further on.

[JOLSE] TIAM Aura Milk Face Peeling Toner

Hey peeps~ I am back with another Jolse sponsored review. By sponsored, I mean I got selected for reviewing the TIAM Aura Milk Face Peeling Toner. πŸ˜†If you have a blog or a public social media account, watch out for Jolse's product event events! They tend to have one every couple of weeks and it is a great opportunity to try out new products and connect with everyone!
Now, I was quite interested in the toner as I have never used a chemical exfoliant on a regular basis. I have tried COSRX BHA liquid before but it was very on and off. (I believe the two brands are sister brandsπŸ˜„) Since it is winter time, and past experience tells me I will have a lot of flaky skin. This is the perfect product to try out and I am so glad I got picked for it.

[JOLSE] nada SODA THE PORE CARE PACK

I received another product from Jolse! I am surprised I won again! This time it is the Nada Soda The Pore Care Pack, which is a clay mask. I was excited to receive it as I thought it was a bubbling mask.
Look at how cute the packaging is! Cute packaging always get to me and it was one of the reasons why I applied for this product! That aside, I wasn't paying too much attention when I applied for it so I was surprised to see how tiny the product was. Then I read the description, and realized I screwed up. Hahaha Oops. πŸ˜…πŸ˜† It's only 50g so of course it's going to be small. Hahaha.

Even though Jolse sent this to me for free to review, all opinions in this post are my honest opinion and by no ways was influenced by the company.

Unfortunately, the ingredients list is all in Korean so I have no idea what is in it. πŸ˜…
The mask itself looks quite fluffy! Not like the standard clay packs which tend to be in a tube and a bit more on the cream side. Whereas this is like a whipped cream. It also includes a plastic spoon to easily scoop out the clay mask.
The good thing about this is that it expires in 2019, meaning this is a fresh product!!!

Onto the product testing. I must say, this whipped cream texture make it so easy to spread!! I just use the back of the provided spoon and it spreads like a dream.
Now, I mentioned I thought this a bubbling mask. I had a little brain fart moment with this. I first had a test patch on the back of my hand. For some reason it didn't bubble so I thought. Oh I must have remembered wrong. So when I put it on my face and it started to bubble.. OMG WHAT THE HECK!! πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

The mask smells like those Naive face washes and feels cool against my skin. It forms a bubble but it's quite big bubbles. If you wan to see them.. Get ready to become close and personal with my face!!!!

Ready???

Here are the pictures!
This is when I first applied the mask and it started to slowly bubble up. As you can see, I have applied quite a thick layer of mask. Which is wrong by the way. I learned later on and will explain down below.
Can you see them bubbles? It kind of forms a layer of bubble on top of the mask itself. So it's almost like I have a thin layer of spider webs on top of the clay mask. And when the bubbles are popping, those particles you see that's laying on top of the bubbles? They pop off, so it ends up sending dried clay particles into the air. It kind of makes for a semi dirty experience.
You ca see what I am talking about a little bit more clearly here. See the separation of the layers?
Here too. It made me wonder if I am maybe not applying it correctly and that's why it's separating into two layers. So I went on Jolse's product page and it showed that the users all used a thin layer of the clay mask. Which made sense since it's only 50g of product, if I continued to use the amount of product I was using, this little tub would be done within 5 uses.

So I decided to try it again but use a much thinner layer. Because this is a whipped mousse texture, the mask is easily spreadable and it was quit easy to spread a thin layer on my face.
This is with a thin layer. The same separate layers, bubbles and mask, occurred. And because it is a thinner layer, the bubbling started way quicker. So yes, I had a brain far the first time around and used WAY too much product. One big scoop with the spoon is more than enough for the face.
Here I intentionally took a swipe so you can see the difference between the bubbling layer and the clay layer underneath. It had the same issue as the thick layer, where when the bubbles explode, the clay parts on the bubble burst into the air and kind of make it a little dirty.
Here is what the swipe looks like once it is dried.

I do feel like it declogged my pores a little bit and it is a fun experience. But I wouldn't repurchase this as I am not a big fan of the clay particles bursting into the air as the bubbles explode. It was a fun experience though and I am thankful for being able to try this.

[JOLSE] Rivecowe Bubble Mask Pack review

I really thought I would not win another Jolse product since it took forever for me to receive and review my last product from Jolse. But I did! And it's the one I really wanted to try! It's the Rivecowe Bubble Mask Pack! I'll admit, I was drawn by the pink packaging and the fact that it's a bubble forming mask! Can you believe I never tried one before? Not even the popular Elizavecca one! So I was very excited to find out I won. Then my excitement was dampened by the thought that it's going to take three months to get to me. -__- Damn you CBSA and Canada Post! *shakes fist at sky*

But... Guess what? I found a bubble envelope in my mailbox just a week after I found out I won! Jolse mailed it on July 7th using K-Packet and I got it on July 17th! That's impressive! Yay! Canada Post is finally going through its backlog!

Okay, rave over. Let's get to the review of the mask itself.
The package itself is very cute, not gonna lie. XD The pink packaging and the bow totally got me. Hahaha
The instruction for the masks was a little confusing as I am not sure if I am supposed to use it on a clean face or not. So I looked up on Jolse and found out it's supposed to remove even makeup! So I decided to draw on my face with some liners and see how it goes. I actually did two days of it so there will pictures from both days.
Before I go any further, I just want to make a comment on the scent of the product. Which is actually a light fresh floral scent that's quite nice. Not quite apple blossom but pretty close.

Day 1

I used Etude House's Play 101 stick from the Pink Cherry Blossom set, they are the #49 and Pink Bonbon. We will see how well it removes the liners.
This is a black mask that started to bubble immediately upon opening of the package.
As I was taking the above photo, I can tell it's starting to really bubble up and had to rush to get it on my face. It was an interesting experience. I can feel and hear the bubbles forming. Then about the 5 minute mark I could feel it starting to group together and then bursting.
I was busy taking videos and pictures that I didn't take the mask off until past 7 minutes, which is well past the recommended 3-5 minutes.
The drawings on my face didn't seem to have budged a bit so this is looking like skintertainment to me. BUT........
Mark my surprise when I washed my face with just water! It all came off! Completely clean!!! I am so surprised!!!! Gah! This works well!!
It was pretty easy to wash off the bubble mask as it made my skin feel slippery. I splashed water on areas that felt slippery and it rinsed off easily.
However, my face felt a bit tight afterwards. I thought perhaps it was due to the fact that I had it on for too long and didn't wash my face immediately after removing it. Plus, I wanted to see how it do against waterproof makeup, so I decided to give it another try.

DAY 2

I got bored and started drawing.. XD

For day 2, I thought I would follow the instructions of only using it for maximum of 5 minutes and see how it goes against waterproof eyeliner. Since I don't want the mask go near my eyes, I drew on my chubby cheeks. There's ample enough canvas there. πŸ˜ƒ I used Kiss Me eyeliner, Peripera Peri's Ink Velvet and Aritaum Volume Up Oil Tint. I thought I used the waterproof eyeliner but it looks like I used the regular version instead. T__T Too late now but let's proceed to see how it did.

I made sure I had this on for 5 minutes, and around 3.5 to 4 minutes, I can feel the bubbles are forming into big ones and then collapsing so I knew it was about time to remove it.*side note* I look like a crazy maniac wearing a weird mask. Hahahahahahaha

Just upon removal, I can see some of the eyeliner already came off and the Ink Velvet was barely there. I washed my face immediately and almost everything came off. I was very surprised the Volume Up tint didn't completely come off as I would have thought the Ink Velvet would have won the battle. Interestingly, when I was washing off the bubbles from the mask, I can see a tinge of red from the Volume Up tint.
Look at how well it removed everything, except for that little tinge of red from the Volume Up tint.
However, even though I took it off within 5 minutes and washed my face immediately, my face still felt dry and taught after using the mask. Granted it is not as bad as day 1, but it definitely is not a moisturizing mask. I had to add extra boost of hydration in my routine to counter this dryness. Considering I have combination skin that tend to be dry, this is not ideal for people with dry skin.

Overall, I think this is a fun mask to play with. It has the skintertainment aspect with the bubbles, and it is good at removing makeup and cleansing the skin. But because it made my skin feel dry, I don't think I would purchase this.

**This product was sent to me by Jolse but all opinions are mine**

[JOLSE] VPROVE Rhodiola Power Cream review

Woot~~ I won the VPROVE Rhodiola Power Cream from Jolse back in March! I was super looking forward to receiving it and trying it out. But guess what... CBSA and Canada Post decided I shouldn't get to play with it for 3.5 months. Soooo.... Even though Jolse shipped it on March 17, I didn't receive it till end of June.. T____T I obviously missed the April 20th deadline but I figured I should share my thoughts on it anyways 😊
The cream comes in a tube with a long nozzle, which allows for sanitary dispersion of cream each time. There is 35ml in each tube, and it retails for roughly US$18 on Jolse. You may be like me, and think 35ml is too little. But trust me, a little goes a long way.

Ingredients:

water, Dimethicone, Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Rhodiola Sacra Root Extract, Butylene Glycol, Propoanediol, Niacinamide, Clyclopentasiloxane, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cetyl PEG/PPG-10/1 Dimethicone, Cclohexasiloxane, Butyrospermum Parkii (shea) Butter, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Glycereth-26, Sodium Chloride, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Titanium Dioxide, Sorbitan Isostearate, Ozokerite, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Panthenol, Dextrin Palmitate, Jojoba Esters, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Madecassoside, Allantoin, Ethylhexaylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, denosine, Aluminum Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Beta-Glucan, Prunus Mume Fruit Extract, Glycerin, Zinc Oxde, Panax Ginseng root Extract, Magnesium PCA Sodium Lactate, Tocopherol, Copper Tripeptide-1, Serine, Sucrose, Urea, Glycine, Calcium Cholride, Potassium Hydroxide, Omithine, Sea Salt, Alanine, Magnesium Cholride, Threonine, Histidine, Aspartic Acid, Valine, Proline, Dipotassium Phosphate, Lysine, Tyrosine, Lucine, Phenylalanine, Isoleucine, Glucosamine HLI, Magneisum Citrate, Asparagine, 1-Methylhydantoin-2-Imide, Glutamic Acid, Citrulline, Arginine, Uric Acid, Methionine, Tryptophan, Turine, Glutamine, Cysteine, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

CosDNA

That's one long list for a small tube of product eh? *My Canadian-ness is coming through. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚*

According to the CosDNA analysis, there isn't much triggers. The biggest trigger is the Tocopherol, with the level of 2 for acne trigger and irritant. There are other ingredients, such as Sodium Lactate and Phenoxyethanol, has a level 4 for safety. But I think this cream should be okay for sensitive skin.
If you have read my blog before, then you know how important fragrance in products are to me. I am not going to lie, I am confused regarding my feelings to this cream.

Let me explain... When I smell it out of the tube, it smells like wood chips and men's cologne to me. When it goes on my face, I can smell it for a good 10 minutes before the scent dissipate. I can deal with the scent, just don't like the fact that I kind of smells like men's cologne. Then.. I swatched it on the back of my hand and I can smell floral undertones to this cream. WHAT?! πŸ˜– As time passes, I keep sniffing my hand. The scent still lingers, but much lighter than the initial application and I can definitely smell the floral notes. So this cream has a confusing scent.. Hahaha. I don't let it bother me since it's becomes very light within 10 -15 minutes. You shouldn't either unless you really dislike the scent.
The cream is off white and I would say normal kind of cream texture. Does that make any sense? It's cream but not very thick, because otherwise it can't pass through that tiny little nozzle. It spreads beautifully. Remember how I said a little goes a long way? Yeah. You really don't need much for this cream. I use about a pea sized and it was sufficient for my chubby face. So the 35ml tube should be sufficient for a month's usage as I think this is more of a day cream.

Why is it a day cream? Well, the cream is advertised to be a temperature-overcoming cream that strengthen's the skin's power, preventing it from becoming sensitive from the changes from indoor and outdoor temperatures. I was sold on this claim and was super excited for this cream so I can test it against the super cold and dry AB weather. But alas, I got this in June, and missed my chance to test it against the cold weather. Luckily, for the cream testing not so much for me, we have been having and continue to have a heat wave in Cowtown. (Great for Stampede but gah for someone who lives with no AC) So the cream is being tested against the strong sun and dry heat instead of the minus 20C weather. But I digress. This is a day cream, and it's kind of self explanatory now. Since it's unlikely you will go outside after doing your night routine, so the cream would be used before you head out the door in the morning.
As for the performance, well... First of all, I have to say I LOVE the cream. Not for its performance regarding the temperature difference but for its ability to tone down stickiness! I used this as the last step in my routine, and let me tell you, it's amazing!
Neogen Code9 Pore Tightening Aqua Cream. It moisturizes well but leaves my skin tacky
My skin tend to be a bit dewy and little sticky from all the serums I use, especially from the Neogen Code9 Pore Tightening Aqua Cream. It makes my skin dewy and moisturized, but it does make my skin feel a bit sticky and takes a while to sink in. But ooooh let me tell you, I put on just a pea sized of the VPROVE cream, and bam! All stickiness is gone! My skin feels cool and "dry" and I can touch my skin without feeling like I have rubbed off some of the Neogen cream. GAW I love the VPROVE cream for this factor alone! 😍😍😍 This is also how I know the pea sized portion is sufficient for my chubby face! No stickiness anywhere with just a pea sized portion of the VPROVE cream.
With both the Neogen and VPROVE creams
As for the temperature-overcoming claim, I think it's definitely true! My face feels cooler to the touch and it's very evident on the swatch on back of my hand. I put my super warm palm on the back of my hand and I can feel the difference immediately! The swatched section feels much cooler than the unswatched area. It also feels much softer and more moisturized as well!

Overall, I have to say I LOVE this cream. I would totally repurchase it and can't wait to try it out against the cooooold weather we have here. I am so happy I got a chance to review this cream from Jolse. But... Jolse, can you PLEASE bring back the standard shipping for Canada? 😭😭😭 There are Canadian customers like me who is okay to wait 3 months for our products. Just maybe have an additional checkout step for us Canucks to say we are okay to wait for 3+ months...  I want to buy things but the only shipping option available is DHL and I hate DHL with a passion.. T___T I can't buy more of this cream from Jolse which sucks because I don't know where else to buy it.. T____T

[JOLSE] Benton Honest TT Mist Review

Yay!!! It's my first and probably last sponsored review!!!!! Let me start it off with a story~~

So Jolse went on r/AsianBeauty back in November selecting 40 reviewers for the Benton mist and I submitted my name for it. They also had a similar process on their website and I also submitted my name. Hey.. Why not increase my chances right..

Fast forward to middle of November and I was browsing on their website and saw the banner for the list of winners. I was sad to see my name wasn't on there but that reminded me to check out Reddit. And what did I see?!?!?! OMG ~~~~ I won~~~~~~!!! o(*≧□≦)o But then.. I realized.. I missed the deadline to give them my address.... .·´¯`(>▂<)´¯`·. What's a girl to do????

I emailed them and explained how I missed the deadline. Jolse graciously replied back saying they will still send it out! Yay!!!!

I anxiously waited and waited but it still wasn't here by the posting deadline of January 8, 2016... But.. What do you know.. I get the mist a week after the deadline. Thanks a lot Canada Post... ┐( ̄γƒΌ ̄)┌

Anyways, here is my honest opinion of the Benton Honest TT Mist.

First and foremost. I DO NOT like this mist at all. It has nothing to do with the product but rather the product design. Every time I sprayed the mist on my face.. I feel like I am being bombarded heavily with water. The nozzle just dispenses too much liquid with too much force. I have to hold it at an arms length to not be splashed with so much product that it's dripping off of my face. If it feels like my face is being rained on every time I use it, I am not going to like this product. Sorry Benton!
1 full pump, it's very poorly distributed.
On the plus side, I do like how it is designed aesthically. It's only 40ml so it would be very clunky to have it in a bottle. I like the tube design. It makes it much easier to slip into a bag than a bottle. The simple black and white design is very appealing to me but I have a preference for black and white items.

Let's move on to the actual product. This is made with tea tree water instead of plain water. I am so glad this mist doesn't smell ANYTHING like tea tree!!!! Tea tree is up there on my list of smells I will absolutely avoid. I refused to use this tea tree mask that works really well due to the smell. So the lack of tea tree smell is a big plus for me. The fact that it doesn't have any discernible scent is even better!!!
 Ingredients: As per the package.

Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea tree) Extract, Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadenisis Leaf Juice, Glycerin, Althaea Rosea Root Extract, Aloe Barbadenis Leaf Extract, Beta-Glucan, Poly Glutamic Acid, Aspalathus Linearis Extract, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Psidium Guajava Extract, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract

Oooooh~~~ Sodium Hyaluronate is the second ingredient!!! I am always excited to see that high up in the ingredients list!
Love that there's instructions in both Korean and English!
I been using the mist right after my toner, and I hate to say it.... The tea tree water doesn't work as effective as the Snail Bee Essence. I know there has been problems with the preservatives in the Snail Bee Essence previously but it worked wonderfully against all of my brother's breakouts. Whereas this, I am using it right after toner and I am still getting break outs. In fact, I got two huge painful under the skin bumps on my cheeks right after I started to use the mist. After I stopped for a few days, they kind of went down. I currently have quite a bit of breakouts on my chin and I been using the mist. So far, it haven't helped calm or reduce any of it... 乁░ ‾́  ‾́ ░ㄏ

But... then I realized.. I had misconceptions about the product! This is a moisturizing product! Not targeted toward breakouts at all!! I really thought it was for calming down breakouts like the Snail Bee Essence. But the description on the tube says it is to "help improve your rough and damaged skin from stress and pollution with moisturizing and cooling effect".  I should've known after seeing Sodium Hyaluronate as the second ingredients.. I think including "TT" in the product name and  advertising it is made from Tea Tree water is a bit misleading for a moisturizing product.

Okay, so it's a moisturizing product. So now let's view its moisturizing ability. I would say it's quite good with refreshing my skin and keep it moisturized. After I spray and pat in the mist, my skin feels softer and more moisturized. I even tried to spray it while I am at work, where I have a mini heater on at all times. My skin was so much softer and happier after using it.

My final thoughts on Benton's Honest TT Mist is that the tea tree water does nothing against breakouts for me but it is quite a good moisturizing mist. Would I purchase it? No I would not. even though it's portable, and a good product. I absolutely hate the nozzle and how unevenly distributed the mist is. I don't want to sit in public and look like an idiot trying to distribute the mist and pat it in. \| ̄γƒ˜ ̄|/

Last thought! Thanks again to Jolse for sending the product out for me to try!
