The box was $32 + $6.99 shipping. It is definitely one of the expensive boxes and I had high hopes for the box. The actual box is quite heavy but... not exactly what I was expecting for an skincare elixir box.

Thoughts: This is a tube of clear cream, or gel as I like to call every clear cream. Yay for Canadian glacier water! Proud Canadian here! :D I love anything that has the addition of hyaluronic acid as it is my favourite ingredient for moisture.
However, according to a CosDNA analysis, it does contains a few triggers including denatured alcohol. Now, denatured alcohol are often associated with drying out your skin. But it does have to do with what it is mixed with as well as your skin type. So I think in this case, the denatured alcohol is to help with the tightening of the pores. But all the moisturizing agents may overcome the drying aspect of denature alcohol. I may be wrong though. Just hypothesizing.
This is going into my pile of creams as Memebox has sent me a few products that expires within the year. Just don't know how this is an elixir. This is a cream, like a moisturizer, not an elixir.

Thoughts: I am still working through my rose eye cream from While You Were Sleeping. A CosDNA analysis revealed that there are quite a few triggers, especially for acne, so I am not sure if I will incorporate it in my routine. My eyelids are really sensitive and breaks out if I just put over a little too much eye cream. So this is going into the the maybe pile.
The eye cream can count toward elixir as it supposed to prevent wrinkles around your eyes.

Thoughts: Ummmm.. How is a mist an elixir? Anyways, moving on..
The syn-ake peptide is supposed to help your skin to be more elastic and healthier. It also contains quite a few berry extracts, such as black berry, bilberry, cranberry, strawberry, and blueberry. It contains no benzophenone, paraben, artificial fragrance or colour. It seems like a great product. CosDNA analysis indicates that there is only 1 ingredient with possible acne trigger. So this is a good product but since I barely made a dent in my first bottle of mist. This is probably going to be passed to my mom.

Thoughts: Hmm.. This is from the same line as the mist. It's a lotion? I wonder if it fits in the serum category and that's why it's included with the elixir box?
Since it's from the same line as the mist, the lotion contains some similar ingredients, such as the syn-ake complex as well as the various berry extracts. According to the CosDNA analysis, the lotion contains more triggers than the mist. So definitely patch test this. I am passing this off to my mom as I don't have much wrinkles.

A blend of adenosine, Phellinus linteus extracts, copper peptide, and EGF works to smoothen out roughened skin texture while niacinamide, rice bran extracts, and morus bark extracts brighten up uneven skin tone. | Pro You Magic Silky Shiny Skin Essence 50ml($36) |
Thoughts: My first thought was this is a hair essence, since it says the first three words of the product is "magic silky shiny". One does not normally relate silky and shiny with facial essence.
The essence sounds like it's a really good product and I could understand why it went into the elixir box. In fact, it's the only item I think belongs to the box. The CosDNA analysis indicates that there is only 1 ingredient that may be a slight trigger for skin. So this is really suitable for all skin types. keeping it in my stash of essence. Using it after my ampoule is done.
Overall Thoughts: I really thought the products in the box does not fit the bill for elixirs. when I hear elixirs, I think of ampoules, vitamin C capsules, or serums. There was barely anything like it in the box. The only thing that comes close is the Pro You essence. Don't get me wrong, all the products in the box are great products, just don't fit the bill.
