[LUNA NECTAR] - Moon Boost Serum

I received the Luna Nectar Moon Boost Serum from Skinvestment x MTL even back in November 2017. It took me a while to try this and now I am finally ready to post my review! But first, let's discuss the brand a little.

Luna Nectar is a Canadian company that produces 100% natural, vegan and cruelty free product. Their product, Moon Boost Serum, is a natural eyelash and eyebrow enhancing serum. It contains ingredients such as Argan Oil and Vitamin E to moisturize the hair, and extracts such as red clover, algae, bamboo and burdock root to lengthen the hairs. It's quite impressive.

The ingredients list looks good, and the CosDNA analysis indicated that there is no ingredients of concern. So that's a promising start. Let's move on to the product shall we?

The Moon Boost we received were the sample size, and I have to say, I love the simple design. Yah, I know that's sounding silly but it's true. I love the simple design of the container and the fact that it is transparent so I can see how much product is remaining. Trust me, it comes in handy. We also received a tiny brush, which is also very useful. BUT, when there is small amount of serum left, I felt that the handle of the brush got more product than the brush. That displeases me because I love to get the most out of my products. But I digress.

The normal sized Moon Boost comes in a bamboo container and is 4mL, which is supposed to be a 3 months supply. The sample I received was probably 1mL, and it lasted me more than a month. So the full size will probably last more than 3 months. But downside is that because it comes in a non-transparent container, you can't tell how much is left.

The clear sample container allowed me to see that it is a white watery solution that needs a good shake to make sure it's well mixed. And because I had to shake it each time prior to application, there are some solution all over the container instead of just laying in the bottom. So when I dip the brushes in the container, the brush and the handle are covered in the serum. I don't mind the brush but damn it, the darn handle shouldn't get any!! >_<

The product has no discernible scent and it goes on white so I know where it is being applied. It sinks in quickly and becomes transparent.

The instruction says to brush the serum from the root and outwards, preferably every night before bed time. It is most likely to ensure you are applying on clean lashes and allows the serum to penetrate the lashes/hair. For eyes, the instruction is to brush on the top of the lashes, so with your eye closed. But I applied it like a mascara, because it was just easier to see that way. The tiny brush they provided was great at getting to the corner of my eyes, where all the tiny lashes are!

I liked applying the serum but I did have trouble remembering to apply before bed.

Now, let's get on to the result.

I was slightly apprehensive about this serum to start, but I have to say it does work! I slowly noticed how my lashes has become thicker and it felt longer too. But looking at the photos, I feel like it doesn't actually show TOO much of a difference. 😅 It really doesn't help that I didn't take the photos at the same lighting and clarity. I do apologize for that.

Looking at the comparison photo between the first day and the end of week 4, I do notice a little bit of a difference. It is a little blurry though. So I took a new comparison photo (see below). The only thing is that I have finished the product and is no longer applying it.

Maybe it's me? I still think my lashes are better after applying it. When I brush my finger against it, I can feel a lot more lashes than before. When I look in the mirror, my lash line is a lot fuller than before. But for some reason, it doesn't show up very well in photos. If you look carefully, you can tell the lashes are a bit fuller, even with the left eye (right in the picture) being clumpy for some reason.

Overall, I really liked the result of the serum. The serum and applicator makes it easy to apply. But the price is not so wallet friendly. Seeing as I don't have a strong desire to grow fuller lashes, this product isn't necessary for me at the current time. But I'll definitely put it on the future purchase list for when I do want to have fuller eyelashes or eyebrows.
