[TIA'M] - My Signature Panthenol Moist Cream

Hey everyone. I was lucky to be selected to test out one of the new products from TIA'M a while back. I was excited as I quite liked their Aura Milk Face Peeling Toner (review here) and the My Signature Panthenol Moist Cream looks quite appealing to me. It is supposed deeply hydrate the skin while forming a moisture barrier and strengthen the skin barrier. I look forward to anything that is supposed to keep my skin moist!

Before I begin the review, please let me get out the standard disclaimer. That even though I received this product for free from the brand, all opinion expressed here is my own honest opinion.

Okay, now that is done. Onward we go to the review!

As you can tell from the name, the star ingredient in the Panthenol Moist Cream is Panthenol. So what is Panthenol? Well, it is a provitamin of B5. This means that the body is able to convert the Pathenol into Vitamin B5. It's quite neat and I learned something new ^_^ The main purpose for Panthenol in cosmetics is to act as a moisturizer and a humectant. Which sounds great to me as my skin is dehydrated and need to retain as much water as possible! So I am so glad I got picked for this cream!!

Ingredients List:
Water, Panthenol (10%), Butylene Glycol, Helianthus Annuus (sunflower) Seed Oil, Glycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Betaine, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Dimethicone, BeesWax, Ethylhexylglycerin, Arginine, Carbomer, Allantoin, Xanthan Gum, Citrus Medica Limonum (lemon) Peel Oil.

CosDNA Analysis

The ingredients list looks decent, as Panthenol is the 2nd ingredient.

However, I must point out the presence of sunflower seed oil, beeswax and lemon peel oil. I am pretty sure I have read some people can have a reaction to sunflower seed oil as well as beeswax. Moreso with beeswax if I recall correctly. Whereas there is a little bit of controversy regarding inclusion of essential oils in skincare, and some people can have irritation from using such products. Even though it is the last ingredient on the list, and is probably at a very small concentration. It is still an ingredient that should be noted, especially if you have sensitive skin and can get irritation easily.

Aside from the Panthenol, the cream also has Betaine, Arginine and Allantoin. Which works to moisturize, moisture retention and strengthen the moisture barrier.

The cream comes in a sturdy plastic jar that contains 50ml/1.7 fl oz. of cream. It also comes with a small spatula to aid with the hygienic retrieval of the cream each time.

I am weird, but I actually don't like the spatula. I know a lot of people like it because it makes it hygienic as whatever on your finger is not coming in contact with the cream... But I find it to be the opposite. I have to keep the damn spatula somewhere safe so it's not sitting in dust or fallen to the ground. Then I gotta to clean it before I dip it in the cream. And then if I ever drop it, there it goes to be cleaned again. Whereas it's way faster to just dip my clean finger in the cream. -_- Plus.. There is always some cream that gets left on the spatula. I just can't deal with it. But hey, that's just me.

The cream itself has a lemon scent to it, which correspond with the inclusion of the lemon peel oil. So ... Even though it's the last ingredient, and I can still smell it. It may be best to patch test this cream if you got sensitive skin.

The cream looks to be a mix between a cream and a gel cream. It's kind of watery and just a tiny bit translucent, like a gel cream. But it's opaque and thick, like a cream. I would say it has a firm peak consistency in baking, as it retains the peaks and slowly (and I mean VERY slowly) goes back. Just like a firm to stiff peak, I can flip it upside down and no cream will fall out.
The cream goes on like a gel cream, feels quite light and watery. It spreads very nicely and sinks in quickly. It leaves my skin feeling moisturized, not tacky nor shiny. I quite like it!

I been testing it for about 3 weeks now and I barely made a dent in the jar! I only use about a dime size of cream each time, and it is more than enough my entire face. It leaves my skin feeling very moisturized afterwards. I prefer wearing it in the morning as I can put some on and then leave the house immediately without having to wait for the cream to sink in.

However, I feel like that it may actually not be sufficient for my skin without having some additional layers of products underneath the cream. Whenever I only use toner, serum or mask, and cream, it lack that extra bounce and dewiness that I get when I do the whole shebang of two toners, serum, mask, emulsion and cream. So I am guessing it won't be enough for the cold winter air that is about to hit Cowtown. But it is sufficient for the cool fall weather we are having right now.

It is marketed at roughly $21 per jar by TIA'M, but is currently on sale for under $20 on Jolse. I think this is a good cream to have if you want a light but very hydrating moisturizer. But just make sure you aren't sensitive to lemon essential oil, beeswax or sunflower seed oil. Though for me, I am probably not going to repurchase as I have a bunch of creams to go through and would need a deeper layer of hydration or a heavier occulsive for the cold winter we are expecting.

Thanks to TIA'M for allowing me to try this cream though!

Edit (Mar 2020): I been using this cream and almost done. Yes I know, it's taking me forever. But I have to say. I really liked it. I tried other creams, but I just keep finding myself going back to it. I just really enjoy putting it on my face. It is light and sinks in quickly and it feels like it is the last layer of product that my skin needs. I think I have definitely grown to liking it a lot. I still don't know if I'll pay for a tub, simply because I still have a ton of creams to use up. But if I don't have so much, I would definitely buy a new tub!
