Memebox Special #46 From Jeju

Memebox Special #46 was gone when I finally decided to purchase it. Luckily I managed to grab a restock of it. Boy am I happy I grabbed it. The box cost $23 + 6.99 USD and it only took 9 days to reach me.

To be honest, the only reason I bought the box was due to the promotional image. It included a picture of an orange and volcanic rock. I thought hey! I tend to like most citrus smelling items and there will probably be a pore product made from the volcanic ashes. My guesses were proven correct!

**The price listed is from the product cards unless otherwise specified. **

Skindeco Volcanic Pore Clay Sparkling Heating Mask 100ml $33
The mask contains high concentrates of volcanic clay, sparkling mineral water, and plankton from Jeju island. Those are to melt away the oil, dirt and sebum, as well as tighten up enlarged pores on your face.

I could not find much about this product and have heard from those who used it that it actually heats up quite a bit. I am also lazy, as I am sure I have stated previously. I really don't want to wash my face only to put the mask on and have to repeat the process again. So I doubt I will ever use it, but it will be fun to force my brother to use it. ^__-

TheYeon Jeju Hallabong Ade Energy Peeling Toner 200ml $19
Can I just start off by saying  this is my absolute FAVOURITE product from all of the boxes so far. The toner contains a moisturizing and nourishing formula blended with organic hallabond, kiwi, broccoli, papaya extracts and black willow extracts. The last two extracts removes excess dead skin and thus rejuvenating your skin. I guess the removal of excess skin makes it a peeling toner, and answers my friend's question of what is a peeling toner.

The toner has a faint smell, reminding me of grapefruit and a hint of orange leaf. It is recommended that you "split" your face down the middle and wipe outward in a circular motion. I have been following this method by using two cotton pads at the same time. It uses more toner than necessary but I find that both cotton pads are destroyed after I am done, there is no way a single cotton pad will work for the entire face.

After the first use, I can already tell the toner is different. My skin does not feel tight or itchy like it does with some of the toners I have used. Instead, it is soft and feels moisturized. I am not sure how well it does on the "peeling" side. But I have seen yellow chunks of things on the cotton pad so it must be working. I am already a quarter way through the bottle and desperately trying to find a new bottle. So this is definitely a keeper.

Skincure SanDaWha Natural Mild Cleansing Oil 30ml $10
This is a cleansing oil that is infused with 100% Jeju camellia oil, which will leave the skin moist and supple. Can I interject that I really like camellia oil? I use this camellia oil infused conditioner from Japan and it does wonder to my hair. And now, we return to the original topic. The cleansing oil will gently cleanse away all dirt, oil, make up residues and skin impurities. You need to pump out 2 - 3 times onto dry hands and softly massage over face before rinsing off with warm water. That doesn't seem like you would get much use out of the bottle.

This is a SMALL bottle of cleansing oil, as you can see it being compared to a loonie. Yes, I grabbed a loonie and I know that is pretty unique to Canada but I didn't have a quarter laying around. Anyways, I am surprised how small it is for a full sized item. I see it more like a travel sized item. Will probably slip it in for when I am going on trips.

Secret Nature  From Jeju Serum 50ml $33 $17.08 + Free Shipping
The serum contains organic broccoli, carrot, aloe and asparagus extracts. In fact, it supposedly contains 65% aloe extract, which calms down the skin. The serum delivers rich nutrition and instant moisture surge deep down into the skin. The serum also boasts to be free of paraben, artificial colouring, benzophenon, talc, TEA and artificial fragrance.

The serum has a light herbal smell to it and is absorbed quickly. The serum reminds me of the Tosowoong Timeshift serum that I received from the Head-to-Toe box. They both have a light herbal smell and both moisturizes quite well with little amount of serum. I think I will use this to replace the Timeshift serum once I am done.

Etude House Clear & Moist Green Tea Blending Sleeping Cream 6g $2 $1.50 + shipping
This is a sleeping cream that is packed in a spoon container. It contains nutrients from green tea cultivated from the Jeju Island and it is highly effective in soothing and moisturizing the skin.

I have never used this sleeping cream before but according to the instruction on the back, yes there are English instructions on the bottom. Apparently there is a layer of herb water-gel and cream so if you never tried it or read the tiny instructions on the back, you may mistaken the two layers as the cream separating. So please, do not throw it out if you see two layers, it is perfectly normal. You are supposed to break off the spoon handle and stir the two layers together. After it is blended, you are to apply it with your hand and wear it overnight before washing it off in the morning.

I admit the novelty factor is definitely the selling point to this cream. Not sure if it is something I would want to see in a Memebox as it is a fairly low priced and easily accessible item. Will use it when I don't feel like using my array of sleeping packs.

Etude House Soothing & Clean Green Tea Mask Pack $1
The mask contains extracts young green tea leaves and will relieve, hydrate and brighten your skin.

There was a sale earlier in November on Etude House Global that had the sheet masks being on sale for $0.50 each, free shipping over $30 and 15% off all purchases through Paypal. I am sure that sale will come back eventually and it would be a good place to watch if you like masks.

The mask was surprisingly small and thin. Not that I am saying it is of a bad quality, but it is much smaller and thinner than my normal masks. The eye slot is so small, it fits my tiny eyes with little room left and I have mask on my eyelids. I doubt anyone with bigger eyes can avoid the mask poking into their eyes. There are no slits around the jaw line to help adjust the mask to my face, but because it is so small, I barely had any excess mask to move around.

There was a decent amount of serum in the package and it definitely feels like my skin has relaxed a little. But I am not sure if it is very moisturizing. I had it on for 30 minutes and even though my face feels soft, it does not feel as moisturized as it did after using other masks. This is after I have used the peeling toner and the Timeshift serum too. I was expecting my skin to feel very very moisturized, so I am a little disappointed. But for $1 (or $0.50 with the stock of masks I purchased), you get what you paid for.

TheYeon Jeju Canola Honey Skily Hand Cream 50ml $5
Two items from TheYeon in one box? Well I really liked the peeling toner, so this product should be promising. There is not much information on this cream so I have no idea what is in it besides canola and honey.

I like the size of the cream as it is a small tube so it can be slipped into your bag. I like the fact that it is absorbed quickly and does not leave an oily imprint. That is one of the issue I have with most hand creams and why I stopped using them. I really hate seeing an oily streak everywhere after I put on a hand cream. But with this one, I can put it on and touch a black computer mouse immediately afterwards without leaving anything behind.

The only downside to this is the smell. The hand cream has a nice floral smell that does not get overly sweet. However, it is quite strong for my liking. The smell kept on wafting over to my face when I was sitting down with my hands are just in my lap. Though it does dissipate after a while so I can learn to live with it. It is currently in my bag so hopefully my hand will stop looking super dry and old.

I did not have any expectations for the From Jeju box so its contents was a pleasant surprise to me. I really love my TheYeon peeling toner and that makes up for everything else in the box. Five out of six items is currently or will be in my rotation so I think it is the best Memebox so far.
