Memebox Superbox #84 Skinfood

Skinfood is a Korean skincare company that started in 1957 with the concept of creating products with nutritional values of food. Their logo is that of a guardian angel who is supposed to convey the purity and goodness of the products to the consumers.

I have heard various requests for Skinfood to be in Memebox and heard great things of their products. My only experience was the egg white nose strips I bought years ago from eBay and liked it. So when Memebox offered a Skinfood box, I thought it would be a good opportunity to try out some products from Skinfood. The box was $26 + 6.99 for shipping. It was supposed to ship out 3-5 days after release but I had a problem regarding my payment so that was delayed another week before it was sent out.

Skinfood Facial Water Vita-C Cream 75g ($13 $8.48 + shipping)
Product Description: Quench thirst by delivering a richly nutritious blend of Vitamin C complex and Alaska glacier water deep into skin. The Vitamin C complex contains extracts from raspberry, acai berry, cranberry, and strawberry and works to replenish healthy energy to dehydrated, dulled complexion.

Thoughts: Another face cream. I am excited for another cream but I have such a backlog of facial cream that I really can't open another jar. The fact that there are so many berry extracts makes it sound like it would smell wonderful. Will hoard it until I am done with my stock of creams.

Skinfood  Black Sugar Mask Wash Off 100g ($9 $6.76 + Shipping)
Product Description: An effective facial exfoliator rich in various minerals and vitamins. Use occasionally to cleanse away excessive dead skin cells, oil, and skin impurities piling up in the pores to make skin sensitive and troublesome. It'll bring back healthy radiance and suppleness to skin with just a single use.

Thoughts: Another facial scrub that requires me to wash my face first.. So much work for a lazy bum.. Anyways, I have two other scrubs/masks to use so I am not opening it yet. However, I am happy to see sucrose as the first ingredient and there are no silicone. That is good news. Ever since my friend told me how the silicone beads from the scrubs are being washed away to the ocean due to its size. I been trying to avoid such products. So I am glad this is a pretty natural scrub. Will keep it in my stash.

Skinfood Egg White Pore Meringue Foam 200ml ($13)
Product Description: Abundant, meringue-like fine bubbles penetrate deep into skin without irritating or dehydrating the skin texture. Highly recommended for weak and sensitive oily skin types.

Thoughts: I love foaming cleansers as that means less work for me. Hahaha. This is designed for oily skin types, and since my brother has been breaking out like crazy since he's 12, I am thinking this would be a good product for him. I was just running out of cleansers to give him so onward it goes into my brother's begrudging hands.

Skinfood Tomato Whitening Toner 180ml ($17)
Product Desciption: A premium Tomato Whitening Toner made from sun-ripe tomato extracts and Vitamin C complex to make skin brighter, clearer and suppler(suppler is a word?!).

Thoughts: Yay! Another toner! I love my Hallabong toner from The Jeju box so I am happy to receive another toner. I can't believe it's a pink toner. That is so cute! Ok. It's a pale pink not bright pink like the Memeboxes. So it is an acceptable colour to like. ^__- Anyways, This one actually does not have an English ingredient list on its label which kind of sucks. I can't seem to find an ingredient list either but I am hoping it doesn't have alcohol in it. I find the alcohol toners tend to dry out my skin a little bit. Will put it in rotation once my Hallabong toner is done.. (Something that I don't want to happen any time soon because I love it to death and don't want to pay $19 + $7 shipping to get another one.)

Skinfood Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake 4g ($5)
Randomly selected from 01 Grey Khaki Black, 02 Grey Brown
Product Description: Formulated with cacao extracts, this Choco Eyebrow Powder Cake carries two naturally blending grey, khaki, or brown shades for shaping and defining fine arches with an easy sweep.

Thoughts: Long and short of it, I am not a make up person so I won't use it at all.

Overall thoughts: I know few people were disappointed with the selection for the box. The total cost of the products was $50.24 and many felt there could have been better and more expensive products included. Since I barely have any experience with the brand, I am actually happy with the selection. The box is quite heavy from the toner and the cleanser. It is a rudimentary skincare box with a cleanser, toner, scrub and a facial cream. The only item that did not fit was the eyebrow powder. It just happens to be the only product I am giving away.
