Memebox Superbox#71 - My Cute Wishlist #4

Memebox's My Cute Wishlist series has been one great box followed by two crappy boxes. The most notable crappy item was the creepy doll cream from My Cute Wishlist #3. But it is also the series that got me hooked with Memebox. So I did not give up hope with My Cute Wishlist #4. I am half happy that I kept it. It is not as bad as #3 but I only found half the box to be cute. Kind of sad but at least the items are going to be useful. ^__^

The box was $23 + shipping. I did get it bundled with Dry & Sensitive so I received it within 5 days. The box is sold out, but they have been restocking the series so if you like the box, keep an eye out for a restock!

Would you like an apple?

Tonymoly  Apple Red Tox Honey Cream 80ml ($12 $7.70 + shipping)
Product Description: Made from vitamin-rich red apple and deeply nourishing honey, Tonymoly's famous Red Appletox Honey Cream is a daily facial cream with a unique honey-like texture. The bouncy, hydrating gel cream stretches when patted on, giving the skin a massage effect as well as a silky finish.

Thoughts: First thought was.. sigh.. a product from CutiePieMarzia #2. But I have to admit I have been tempted to buy the apple when I was in HK. I love how much it actually looks like an apple. When I opened it and smelled it, I thought hmm I smell pear. But when I did a patch test on the back of my hand. I finally smell the apple! It actually smells like I spilled apple juice on the back of my hand. As much as I love the smell, I did find it a tad too strong. I could no longer smell anything else so I had to pull my hand far away and smell the other items very close to my nose.

The cream is very thick. It took about 15 minutes for it to be absorbed into the back of my hand and I had to rub it a few times to make sure it is fully absorbed. So I don't know if it is a good daily moisturizer. I have heard much people using it as a sleeping mask and wash it off in the morning. A CosDNA analysis indicated it does contain a few ingredients that are acne causing, so if you are acne prone, perhaps avoid this product. No matter how cute it is.

Etude House Sweet Recipe Candy Stick 2g ($5)
Randomly Selected from 01 Seedless Strawberry Candy, 02 Oh! Orange Candy, 03 Sour Lemon Candy
Product Description: Enriched with bilberry, sugar cane, sugar maple, orange and lemon extracts, the Sweet Recipe Candy Stick is a gloss type lip tint that moisturizes and plumps up your dry, chapped lips for a long-lasting radiance.

Thoughts: This item was apparently in the first My Cute Wishlist #1. It is cute! I got Christmas on the mind so I quite like getting a candy cane lip chap. I am so happy I finally received a lip item that is not BRIGHT pink. Though it is a lip balm, not a lip tint. That's okay, I am happy to receive what I got. I love how bright it is, I didn't smell any lemon on it. The balm is peachy in colour but when I did a patch test, the balm turned into orangey pink. It took a bit of time for the colour to develop though. I will be gifting this to my friend for Christmas since it is such a cute Christmas item. Don't worry, I will chop off the top and tell my friend that I swatched it on the back of my hand.

Yadah Vita-Whitening Aqua Gel 5ml + Puregreen Moisturizing Cream 5ml (5ml x 2ea $24)
Product Description: The most perfect pair of facial creams to pop into your pouch for travelling. The Vita-Whitening Aqua Gel is made from vitamin-rich rosehip extracts for sotening and firming, niacinamid for brightening, and cactus extracts for moisture boost. The Puregreen Moisturizing Cream, on the other hand, is enriched with royal jelly extracts, cactus extracts, bean oil complex, sea buckhorn berries, and birch tree sap for delivering rich moisture surge deep down into skin.

Thoughts: They are TINY. They are about twice the size of a toonie. They are a good size for travelling so these are going into the travelling pile/my bag. The lids are super cute. It's a little girl and her pet who got beaten and is dying (note the skull next to his face).

The Vita-Whitening aqua gel has a nice faint smell and is absorbed quickly into the skin. It feels like a light moisturizer for the summer. The Puregreen Moisturizing Cream has a stronger perfume smell and feels like it is a thicker moisturizer. Like its counterpart, it is absorbed quickly into the skin.

As for the pricing, I am not sure if these two are worth $24. I have found the 50ml version on Gmarket for $21.78 CAD. So by that calculation, a 5ml pot is $2.20, two pots are only $4.40 and not the $24 Memebox price tag.

ddung Liquid Eye Liner 5ml ($12)
Product Description: A liquid eyeliner with a formula that offers a remarkably defined, feminine eyes with a long-lasting, waterproof, and non-smudging wear.

Thoughts: Ok, the packaging is cute. I am a sucker for lace patterns so I liked the product already just by its packaging.

The colour of the eyeliner is as black as the black on the packaging. I really like how dark it is. I found the liner tip to be a bit thick for my liking and I can't get it to draw as thin as my Kiss Me liner.

The liner doesn't seem to be waterproof. I was washing my hand under cold water and the swatches I did all came right off without any soap. Not sure if I will keep it or give it away.

Holika Holika Pig-nose Clear Black Head Steam Starter 30ml ($6)
Product Description: This Steam Starter opens up clogged pores when massaged onto face and gently melt away all blackheads and skin impurities from inside. The aloe vera gel complex works as a soothing and moisturizing agent at the same time to protect the skin from dehydration and stimulation.

Thoughts: It is baby pink and baby blue so it is fitting of the "cute" theme. The actual product is not too cute though. I have a few similar products so I am not using this one yet.

Pure Smile Choosy Lip Pack Milk 3ml ($1)
Product Description: Pamper your chapped lips with Pure smile's Choosy Lip Pack abundant in milk protein extracts for strengthening the moisture level and reviving the juicy glow of your lips. This easy-to-apply lip patch will help maintain healthy, silky smooth lips!

Thoughts: This is NOT cute! I don't know in what world would this qualify as cute. But I have to admit, I have been secretly wanting to try this lip mask ever since I saw postings of it. It looks so silly it would be fun to play with.

Pure Smile Snail Hand Cream Milk 60g ($5)
Product Description: Snail slime extracts and milk protein extracts in the hand cream help soothe, moisturize, and revitalize the dry, stressed-out skin on your hands. It'll revive the skin elasticity and the natural glow of your hands as well.

Thoughts: Again, this is not cute besides the colour of the packaging. Though I have to admit I am glad they included this item. This is my favourite hand cream so far!

The cream is opaque but considerably more liquid than than most creams. I think that is due to the addition of the snail slime extracts. Despite being watery, the cream feels pretty moisturizing and does not leave a residue. It is not as moisturizing as heavy cream moisturizers but it does its job well.

The hand cream smells wonderful. A little sweet but very milky. It seems like I have a watered down milky candy on my hand. The scent is not strong enough to waft into my nose unsuspectingly so it is a keeper!

Tonymoly Egg Pore Nose Pack 7ea ($4)
Product Description: This blackhead removing Egg Pore Nose Pack is made from charcoal and egg complex which effectively treats enlarged pores and excessive blackheads and whiteheads, smoothening out the uneven skin texture to resemble the rounded smooth surface of an egg.

Thoughts: How is this cute?! This reminds me of the Skinfood egg pore strips I used years ago. I haven't used these kind of nose strips for years now so I am not sure if I will keep on using it.

Final thoughts: The first four products in the box are cute, and the last four are not cute but are useful. So half and half. The total cost of the products is $45.10, so about twice the cost of the box excluding shipping. The cuteness factor and value factor is not fully there. Though I absolutely love the hand cream and adore how cute the apple is. so I guess this is an okay box. Better than My Cute Wishlist #3 but not as great as #1.
