After the success with the OneOSeven Rose Vinegar Water, I was really intrigued by the other OneOSeven product I received from Be Mused Korea during the Skinvestment Beauty Date x MTL event back in May.
It is the OneOSeven (I am just gonna go 107 from now on) Feminine Body Soap + α, which is a body soap with fermented mugort vinegar and is designed for you private. It is to help balance healthy menstrual cycle of your body and will create a moisture barrier and lock in the moisture.
But as your privates is a sensitive area, please consult a doctor about the usage of said soap before actually using it. I prefer not to, so good thing this soap is gentle enough to be used on the body and face.
The ingredients list for the soap is:
Palmitic acid, Lauric acid, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Palmitate, Sodium Laurate, Sodium Myristate, Stearic acid, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Angelica Gigas Root Extract, Paeonia Suffruticosa Root Extract, Aconitum koreanum, Thuja Orientalis Seed Extract, Angelica Dahurica Root Extract, Lysimachia Foenum-graecum Extract, Cnidium Officinale Root Extract, Rubia Cordifolia Root Extract, Scutellaria Baicalensis Root Extract, Leonurus Sibiricus Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract , Polygonum Multiflorum Root Extract, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Frgrance, Vinegar (7 yrs Mugwort Vinegar), Tetrasodium EDTA
CosDNA
Okay, so the CosDNA is telling me there are quite a few acne triggers in this soap... Umm.. Maybe don't use it to wash your face if you are acne prone.. Use your own judgement please.
The soap comes in a nice pink paper package and the soap itself is white with 107 imprinted on it. I was given a tip regarding solid soaps, in that you can cut it up in chunks so only small chunks of the soap is used at a time. I was just slightly hesitant to try this, but I also didn't want to have a huge wet soap in my bathroom. So I went ahead and cut it up. I was pleasantly surprised that it is quite soft and easy to cut through! Woot!
I used my soap a few times, and I have to say.. I am not a fan.. I am so sad because I love the Rose Vinegar Water.. But this soap is a hard miss for me. Let me explain.
Like I mentioned above, this soap can be used for your body and face, as well as your privates. I decided to use it on my body and face.
The instructions says to lather it with your hands, sponge or a foaming net. I just used my hands, which foams up quite easily. I then massaged it over my body and face.
Well, first big no no for me was the scent. No offense, but I really thought this would smell like roses, or something fruity, not like an old lady. That's a terrible statement I know, but I don't like the scent at all. It reminds me of this soap my grandma always used when I was growing up. Thankfully it doesn't stay on after I rinsed off the soap. But the scent was just a blerg to me, especially when I am not a fan of bar soaps.
The second, and biggest no no for me is how it made my skin feel. As soon as I started to rinse the suds off and my fingers made contact with my skin, the thought of "this is too stripping" popped into my head. It feel like there was tons of friction on my skin. Just lightly brushing my fingers against the skin feels like I am dragging it. It's just not a pleasant feeling. I thought maybe it was just my skin not being used to it. So I kept trying to use it. But after a week or so, I still get the same feeling every single time.
Unfortunately, due to the scent and the effect it had on my skin, this 107 soap is a dud for me. It feels too stripping for my normal but dehydrated skin. Maybe it may be better for other skin types.
I just want to thank Be Mused Korea and 107 for generously providing these products to try though!
**The product was provided to me complimentary in exchange for my honest opinon**
