Memebox Thanksgiving Box Collection #2 For You

As mentioned in the previous Thanksgiving box post. This box was released in November and since I could not decide on which box to pick, I got both. The box cost $26 + $6.99 shipping. It took 7 days to arrive at my office and into my happy little hands.

I liked quite a few items in the first box and there are a couple of items I really like in this box!

**Prices are listed are from the product cards unless otherwise stated**

VIVITO Illust Lumiere Primer 30ml ($50)
Product Descriptions: A lightweight primer that creates an invisible barrier between skin and makeup to prime your face for extra radiance and glow. Ideal for drier skin, this hydrating formula nourishes with moisture-rich blend of lavender water and bergamot leaf extracts to soothe and prime the skin, allowing foundation to glide on easily and stay fresh all day long. Its 'elastic smoothing powder' component helps control excess oil and sebum while thinly covering up visible pores and fine lines as well.

Thoughts: A primer eh.. I barely know how to tell with my BB/CC cream, I have no idea what I am supposed to do with a primer.

The primer has a fine purplish glittery shine in the bottom. When I applied it as a swatch on the back of my hand, the glitters are really noticeable. I feel like I have a glittery hand. If I were to apply it to my face I would have a disco ball face. Yikes. If I were the clubbing kind, then this primer would be perfect.

The primer has a semi-strong perfume smell so I think applying it to my face would have bothered me. Just the smell alone would have prevented me from applying it on my face. The glitter just adds to the no no usage. Excuse me while I go stare at my glittering hand.

Shara Shara Miracle Multi Cream 50ml ($18 $11.94 + shipping)
Product Description: A nourishing moisturizer packed with rich nutrients from 30 different kinds of plant oil complex including grape seed oil, rosehip oil, and green tea seed oil. Deliver instant moisture surge and glowing radiance to dry, tired face as if letting the skin take a rejuvenating winter sleep! it will take care of dry patches and protect from external damages by locking in moisture for over 48 hours.

Thoughts: First of all, how cute is the polar bear sleeping?! So cute!

This is called a multi cream but I feel like this is more of a balm. It is a yellow solid in the tub instead of the usual creams. The balm smells a cross between a lemon candy and detergent. Every time I smell something lemon-like I can't stop thinking back to Sunlight detergent. Hahaha.

The tub comes with a little spoon which helps make it sanitary. Not that a lazy person like me would care. But since I am considering giving it away, I did use the spoon to take out a little chunk for a swatch.

It looks like a solid in the tub but once it is on the back of my hand, it transforms into an oil consistency. It takes very little to cover a large area. I took just a little chunk and it was enough to cover the entire back of my hand. During application the balm feels oily and leaves a shine on the back of my hand and finger. However, it is absorbed quickly into my skin and the applied area feels super silky and a little oily to the touch. I think this would be a great balm for the dry spots on the body, and I am tempted to keep it.

Shara Shara Brush Set 5ea ($24)
Product Description: A set of make up brushes from Shara Shara packaged into a lovely, pink metallic pouch. It contains 5 brushes in total each designed for different puposes - 1 big fat brush for applying powder, 3 medium sized brushes for applying eye makeup, and 1 thinner and softer brush for applying lip makeup.

Thoughts: I have said it over and over again, I am a newbie when it comes to make up. I basically apply BB/CC cream (depending on which one I can find at the moment), eyeliner and mascara. Sometimes I would put a little bit of gold glittery eye shadow. That is the full extent of my make up regime. So I have no idea what to do with brush sets and I have no idea how great the quality the brushes are. I am going to keep it just in case I do want to learn how to apply blushes and fine powders.

On a side note, if anyone knows how to draw noticeable eyeliners on eyes that have the inner double fold eye lid or any type of eye make up tips for that kind of eyes. Please, please let me know! I draw eyeliners on and it doesn't make any difference because it is covered up by my eyelid. Sigh..

VIVITO Painting Sweet Lip Balm 12g ($24)
Randomly selected from 01 Orange Farm, 03 Grape Farm
Product Description: Formulated with orange peel oil, grape extracts, blackberry extracts, and Vitamin E, this Painting Sweet Lip Balm works to moisturize and revive dry, chapped lips. It's scented with a sweet fruity fragrance and its unique jelly-like balm texture is also a fun, unique feature to take note of.

Thoughts: I was really disappointed when I saw I got Grape Farm instead of Orange Farm. I would love to receive an orange juice in a tub. But I was pleasantly surprised when I opened up Grape Farm.  The tub looked like there is nothing inside since the balm is clear, blending in with the tin. The balm smells like grape candy, it makes my mouth water and crave this Japanese grape candy that taste and feels like real grapes. Those candies are so hard to find. I found it once in Cow town and had to track it down in HK. Soo good. It has two layers of candy, so the thin outer layer on top of the inner layer feels like the flesh of a grape. It was soo good.. This candy just reminded me of that candy and now I need to find more!!!

Back on topic. I love how clear the balm is that I am reluctant to dip my finger into the jar and ruin the perfection. But one must disturb the beauty to try the product.. So here I go... *sorry I really love how clear it is and how much it blends into the tin*

The balm is soft and bouncy to the touch. It is like dipping my finger into a tub of grape jelly. It is soo yummy smelling. I trying real hard not to lick my lips right now. The balm is clear but goes on as a really pale pink shade. The balm does not feel greasy on my lips. Instead, it feels like I have nothing on my lips. It adds a shine but not a gloopy glossy shine. I am absolutely in love with the lip balm right now. I want more!!! I would totally carry this everywhere. It would be better if it comes in a tube so it is more hygienic but other than that. I am in love with it!!!

EDIT: I am sad to report that as much as I love this lip balm, it is not very moisturizing at all. I had it on yesterday and while the colour is long lasting and does not come off with drinking. I could my lips getting drier by the afternoon. I would say this would be great if you have this with a layer of moisturizing lip balm on top.

Peripera Heart Glow Stick 02 Gold Aura 6.5g ($14 $6.31 + shipping)
Product Description: This Heart Glow Stick in Gold Aura is a natural volume & radiance adding highlight packaged into an easy-to-carry mini stick. Its gentle, creamy formula, consisting of hyaluronic acid, marine collagen, and deep ocean water, apply smoothly onto skin without being flaky or dry and work to add that perfectly dewy and voluminous glow to your complexion.

Thoughts: So this is a highlighter? Again, noob here so I am not too sure where to apply this stick.

I took a picture of the stick with flash and in natural light. The left is with flash, it looks much lighter, like it would be ok for my skin tone. The natural light is on the right. It looks to be a much darker shade than my skin tone.

Here is a swatch of it in natural lighting (left) and in flash. Again, when it is under flash, the highlighter seems to blend in well with my skin tone. But it is a different story under natural lighting. The highlighter is gold and a few shades darker (?) from my skin tone. If I were to wear it to work, I think I would have gotten quite a few questionable looks from strangers. Definitely not my shade no matter what the flash tells me. Unless I am wrong and the highlighter is supposed to be this different from my skin. Will give it away.

Left: SARACEN Fluorescent Glitter 13 g ($6)
Randomly selected from Silver, Gold, Black, Blue
Right: with shyan Nail Laquer 15ml ($4)
Randomly selected from Blue Violet, Neon Green, Pink Lady, Neon Purple
Product Descriptions:
Nail Laquer: The Nail Lacquers from with shyan are highly prized for their neon vividness that glides onto your nails smoothly and evenly without leaving any brush marks. The colour of the packaging bottle is exactly what you'll see on your nails.

Glitter: SARACEN's Fluorescent Glitters comes in 4 different hexagonal colours - gold, silver, black, and blue. These metallic glitters sparkle differently from varying angles, giving your nails an additional vitality and splendor.

Thoughts: The glitter is chunkier than I thought. In the spoiler pictures I could not see the glitter clearly and thought they were a fine glitter. The glitter is about 2mm in diameter so it is on the big side for glitters. I prefer fine glitters as it adds a shine to the nails, plus it is the Christmas seasons so black nails is not too festive. I will reserve it for Halloween season. I do wish I got the blue glitter as that can be used to create this pretty blue nail pattern.

The nail polish is BRIGHT PINK. I swear I am destined to get bright pink in lip tints and nail polishes. I wouldn't mind receiving the blue or the violet nail polish. I will give it to a friend who likes to do different designs when painting her nails.

Pure Smile Essence Mask Sheet 23ml x 2ea ($2)
Randomly selected from Milk, Strawberry Milk
Product Description: Replensih your complexion into a baby-face with this milk mask sheet rich in milk protein nutrients, fresh raspberry extracts, Vitamin E, collagen, and hyaluronic acid with all work to moisturize, protect and balance out the skin for a healthier complexion.

Thoughts: The description says it is randomly chosen from milk and strawberry milk but it seems like you get one of each instead. I really like my Pure Smile milk snail hand cream so I am hoping the sheet mask will be as good as the hand cream. Will give it a try one day.

Overall Thought:  My first thought was how disappointed I was that this is basically a make up box with leftovers from the nails boxes that took forever to sell out. (Not as long as CPM2 but almost) However, the lip balm has turned me around. I absolutely love the lip balm! It makes up for the entire case.

The total cost of the products is $128.25 + shipping. That is quite a high return for a box costing $26 + shipping.

I can understand why this is a For You box. It is designed for those who are new to Memebox and is just getting introduced to Korean cosmetics. For someone who's gotten a few boxes, this box is a tad disappointing. But, I just love my lip balm too much that I am willing to overlook everything else. Off to find more lip balms!
